Scammers have been reported placing QR stickers on official signage which lead to fraudulent websites designed to steal payment information. We don’t use QR codes in MVDC car parks and RingGo no longer use QR codes due to these scams. If you suspect a fraudulent QR code in any of our car parks, please report it to us here.

Our payment machines only accept coins with the exception of the Swan Centre Car Park and Church Street Car Park, Leatherhead, which also accept card transactions. Card payments can be made in all other car parks using RingGo by phone, app or online.
Short stay car parks are limited to three hours, except for the Swan Centre in Leatherhead, which is limited to four hours. There is no limit for long stay parking, as long as the correct amount is paid.
Pay and display tickets and RingGo sessions purchased in any of our car parks are valid and transferable to all car parks in that town or village with the exception of those purchased within the Swan Centre Car Park, which are non-transferable.
Our Civil Enforcement Officers are equipped with body worn cameras. This is to protect their health, safety and welfare. The cameras will only ever be activated when it is necessary due to threatening or anti-social behaviour and will warn in advance that the camera is going to be turned on. You can find more details on the Body Worn Camera Privacy Notice page.
30 minute free bays
The selected ‘free for 30 minute’ bays are marked out in green and require a special 30 minute ticket to be displayed.
They will be patrolled regularly to reduce overstaying.
- A 30 minute ticket must be clearly displayed in the vehicle
- The 30 minutes tickets can only be used in the designated spaces. They are not valid in any other car park spaces
- Overstaying will not be tolerated as these spaces are being provided to ensure that as many people as possible can benefit from ‘popping to the shops’
- The 30 minute ticket will only be valid for the car park in which it is purchased and there is no return permitted within one hour
Blue Badge Scheme
The Blue Badge scheme is for drivers or passengers with severe mobility problems and allows them to park on-street or in an MVDC car park, free of charge. Provided the disabled badge is clearly and properly displayed, the badge holder can park in the designated disabled bays or any other standard bay in council off-street car parks for free and usually for an unlimited time but motorists are advised to check the tariff signs at each car park.
Temporary Disability Permit
If you are temporarily disabled, for example awaiting for a hip replacement, you can apply for a Temporary Disability Permit, for a small fee, entitling you to park in our car parks, free of charge.
Parking Enforcement Policy
This policy outlines the Council’s approach to enforcement and is based around guidelines for a series of typical instances and scenarios.
To view the Parking Enforcement Policy, visit our Policies, Strategies and Plans page.
