Paying your Council Tax

Direct Debit

To pay by direct debit, there is a choice of four payment dates each month:

• 1st
• 5th
• 15th
• 25th

All other payment methods are due on the first of each month.

Setting up a Direct Debit

E-mail council.tax@molevalley.gov.uk with your:

• full name
• address
• Council Tax account reference Number – begins with a 6
• name of your bank
• sort code
• account number
• name(s) of account holder(s)
• preferred instalment date (1^st, 5^th, 15^th or 25^th of each month)

The direct debit instruction will be administered and details of your monthly instalments going forward will be sent out to you.

Complete and email a direct debit form to council.tax@molevalley.gov.uk

You can call 01306 879293 with your council tax reference number, beginning with a 6 (we need this to set up a new direct debit) and your bank account details.

E Billing

Receive your Council Tax bills electronically, complete an online form.

Home banking

You will need to quote:

• your Council Tax reference number
• our NatWest sort code 57-32-30 and account number 0000 0000

The payment reference is your 9-digit Council Tax reference number which is shown on your bill.

Over the telephone

Call 0300 1231064 and have your card details and your council tax reference number available.

By post

Send your cheque payable to Mole Valley District Council, quoting your reference number and your name and address, on the back of the cheque to: Revenues Section, MVDC, Pippbrook, Dorking, Surrey, RH4 1SJ.

Half yearly payers

Payments are due by 25th May and 25th October.

If you have chosen to pay half yearly by any other method, payments are due by 1st May and 1st October.

12 monthly instalments

Your request must be made by 17th March and payment be made during April.

Applications made after 17th March will be payable in a reduced number of instalments with the final payment in March.
