Brownfield Land Register

The purpose of the Brownfield Land Register is to provide up-to-date, publicly available information on previously developed (“brownfield”) sites which have been assessed as being appropriate for residential development.

To be included on the Register, sites must be at least 0.25ha in size or considered capable of supporting a minimum of five dwellings.

The land must be available for residential redevelopment and such development must have been evaluated as being suitable and achievable in that location.

Our Brownfield Land Register has been compiled from a number of sources, including:

  • sites allocated in adopted planning policy documents
  • sites for which planning permission exists
  • other sites known to us e.g. identified in evidence base documents.

The Brownfield Land Register is in two parts. Part 1 lists all brownfield sites in Mole Valley which have been assessed as being appropriate for residential redevelopment, using the tests set out in the 2017 Regulations.

At this stage, we have decided not to granted Permission in Principle in respect of any of the sites in Part 1. Therefore no sites are included in Part 2 of the Brownfield Land Register.
