Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015

Notice is hereby given that the unaudited statement of accounts for Mole Valley District Council for the year ended 31 March 2022 has been published on the Council’s website and will be available for public inspection in accordance with Sections 26 and 27 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 as detailed below:

  1. From Wednesday 9 November to Tuesday 20 December 2022 inclusive, between the hours of 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. (Mondays to Fridays) any person, on application to the Executive Head of Service (Finance and Strategy) (Section 151 Officer), Pippbrook, Dorking, Surrey, RH4 1JS (Tel. 01306 879134), may inspect and make copies of the accounts of the above named Council for the year ended 31 March 2022, and all the accounting records and documents.
  2. From Wednesday 9 November to Tuesday 20 December 2022, any Local Government elector for the Mole Valley District, or their representative, may ask the auditor questions about the accounts.
  3. From Wednesday 9 November to Tuesday 20 December 2022, any such elector or their representative may make objections to the Council’s accounts asking that the auditor issues a report in the public interest and/or apply for a declaration that an item in the accounts is unlawful under Section 28 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.

No objection may be made unless the Auditor has previously received written notice of the proposed objection and the grounds on which it is to be made, and a copy of that notice must at the same time be sent to the Council at the address below.

The Council’s external auditor is Grant Thornton UK LLP, 30 Finsbury Square, London, EC2A 1AG, to whom any questions and notices of objections should be addressed.
