Parks, Recreation and Play Facilities
There are many recreation areas and play facilities across Mole Valley suitable for a range of ages and interests. Please report any damage in one of the MVDC parks or playgrounds by email to parks@molevalley.gov.uk or call 01306 885001
Ashtead Recreation Ground
Location: South of Barnett Wood Lane near the village pond.
Facilities:
- Playground
- Skate park
- Hard court available (booked through Ashtead Football Club)
- Football pitch (under license to Ashtead Football Club)
- Tennis courts (under license to Ashtead Tennis Players Club)
- Three car parks: one off Barnett Wood lane, one off Greville Park Road and one off Woodfield Lane
Merebank Recreation Ground
Location: Access from Willow Close, Merebank and Hawkesmoore Drive.
Facilities:
- Toddlers playground
- Adventure playground for older children
- Full sized hard court area with basketball hoops
Chrystie Recreation Ground
Location: South of the village centre on Dorking Road.
Facilities:
- Playground
- Bowling and tennis clubs
Lower Road Recreation Ground
Location: Lower Road to the west of the village.
Facilities
- Large playground
- Skate park
- Basketball half court
- Small car park
Brockham Recreation Ground
Location: Middle Street.
Facilities:
- Playground
- Multi-use games area
- Goal area
- Youth shelter
- The twin swing is currently out of action awaiting repair
The Big Field
Location: South of the A25 Reigate Road.
Facilities:
- Three football pitches and changing pavilion (under licence to Dorking Rugby Football Club)
- The field is owned by the National Trust but managed by a local committee on which we sit
Meadowbank Recreation Ground
Location: Dorking town centre with access from Mill Lane, Ashcombe Road, London Road and Fairfield Drive.
Facilities:
- Playground
- Skate/BMX park
- Multi use games area
- Aerial swing
- Facilities for football and cricket
- Soft Play
- Football ground
Pippbrook Grounds
Location: Between A24 Reigate Road and London Road
Facilities:
- Tennis courts, managed by Dorking Sports Centre
- Bowling green and pavilion of Pippbrook Bowling Club
Pixham Sports Ground
Location: South side of Pixham Lane.
Facilities:
- Home to Dorking Cricket Club, Dorking Athletics Club and Dorkinian Football Club.
- We own the ground and it is managed by the Pixham Sports Association
Cannon Court Recreation Ground
Location: A small open space with access from Cannon Grove and Cannonside.
Facilities:
- Playground
- Tennis courts which are leased and managed by the Leatherhead Tennis Club
Cock Lane Recreation Ground
Location: Adjoining Cock Lane
Facilities:
- Large playground
- A multi sports court
- Tennis court
Kennel Lane Recreation Ground
Location: Accessed from Hazel Way, Gatesden Road and Ashwood Park, as well as the public footpath from Bell Lane.
Facilities:
- Playground
- Football pitch (licensed to Bookham Football Club)
- Small pond
Fortyfoot Recreation Ground
Location: Between Fortyfoot Road and the main A24.
Facilities:
- Small playground
- Football pitch
- Bowling green is the home of Leatherhead Bowling Club
- Informal woodland area with a number of paths
Kingston Road Recreation Ground
Location: Leatherhead KT22 7PZ.
Facilities:
- Playground
- Skate park
- Football pitch and pavilion
- Sensory garden
- Environmental area
- Update – the basket swing is currently out of action. We are working with our contractors to resolve this as soon as possible
Leatherhead Leisure Centre
Location: Guildford Road, Leatherhead KT22 9BL
Facilities:
- Skate park
King George V Playing Field
Location: A24 Deepdene Avenue.
Facilities:
- Playground
- Full sized and mini football pitch
- Concrete skate park with a sunken bowl area, range of street features
- Teen shelter
- Changing pavilion
Cradhurst Recreation Ground
Location: North of Westcott Street with access available from Cradhurst Close, Springfield Road, as well as via the public footpath that runs northwards from the main A25 road.
Facilities:
- Playground
- Teen area with half pipe, football goals, half court and climbing boulders
- Update – the basket swing is currently out of action. We are working with our contractors to resolve this as soon as possible
The facilities listed are managed by us.
Additional facilities are provided by local Parish Councils. Please contact the relevant parish for details.
Many of these recreation areas and open spaces are available for hire by community groups and individuals wishing to hold special events.
