Cllr Paula Keay

Ward: Brockham, Betchworth, Buckland Box Hill & Headley

Liberal Democrat Member

Paula was elected to the Council in May 2023.

Originally from London, she moved to Surrey 20 years ago, initially living in Reigate and now in Betchworth with her family, with her children attending local schools. After university, she worked in IT and project management for a local company and ran a successful small teaching business, before deciding to retrain as a nurse. She has now worked as an NHS nurse for over 15 years and is currently working part time as a specialist nurse practitioner at a GP in Redhill. She has also been involved with The Children’s Trust charity in Dorking.

Paula wants to protect our Green Belt, support businesses with sustainable growth, improve public transport, support local health and education services, and address the climate crisis emergency. She appreciates the particular local challenges we are facing regarding affordable and available housing, local and hidden rural poverty, the difficulties arising from the cost-of-living crisis impacting on families and individuals, and the terrible situation with sewage in the River Mole.

Paula enjoys regular walks in our local beautiful countryside, is a keen vegetarian cook and trains at a local kickboxing club.
