Licensing Sub-Committee

A Licensing Sub-Committee consists of three councillors who sit on the main licensing Committee.

The three councillors meet primarily for three purposes, to:

• consider applications for new premises licences (needed by pubs and clubs)
• consider temporary event notices where representations (objections) have been received
• determine reviews of licences where an objection to a current premises license has been received

The three councillors attending are selected by an officer, with the intention of avoiding councillors determining cases that occur in or sufficiently close to their ward.
