Leader of the Opposition

The Leader of the Opposition is usually the head of the largest group not in control of the council.

The role of the Leader of the Opposition is to lead in holding the decisions made by the majority Group to account.

At the Annual Council Meeting on Tuesday 20 May 2025, Councillor Chris Hunt was elected as Leader of the Opposition.
