Councillor Allowances

Councillors are entitled to be paid allowances under our Members Allowances scheme.

This includes:

  • a basic allowance for all councillors
  • special Responsibility Allowances for the councillors in positions such as an Executive Member or the Chairman of a Committee
  • other expenses, such as travelling expenses and childcare allowance

The Councillors Allowance Scheme is set out in the Council’s Constitution.
