Councillor Allowances
Councillors are entitled to be paid allowances under our Members Allowances scheme.
This includes:
- a basic allowance for all councillors, this is provided to cover the costs incurred by Councillors in undertaking their role on Mole Valley District Council (for example the purchase of IT equipment, telephone usage, stationary) and to recognise and compensate for the time commitment, for example attendance at Council meetings, training/seminars and general constituency work.
- special Responsibility Allowances for the councillors in positions such as a Cabinet Member or the Chairman of a Committee
- other expenses, such as travelling expenses and childcare allowance
