Simple Recycling
From 31 March 2026 you are able to put aerosol cans, cartons, non-black plastic plant pots and squeezy metal and plastic tubes in your mixed recycling bin. Just follow these simple steps and then add to your bin:
- empty aerosol cans
- empty, rinse and, if possible, remove lids of cartons such as juice and soup cartons
- clean non-black plastic plant pots
- empty squeezy metal and plastic tubes, such as tomato puree and toothpaste tubes

You can see recycling, refuse, and Garden Waste (if you are a garden waste subscriber) collection dates for your property via Where I Live. All you need is your postcode!
Ensure your bin:
- is put out on the correct day for collection by 6am
- is unobstructed and placed at the edge of your property
- does not contain the wrong type of waste
Recycling and refuse collections take place fortnightly.
Unwanted textiles and small electrical items, when tied up tightly in a supermarket carrier bag and placed next to your bin, will be collected on your normal collection day.

Food waste collections
Food waste is collected weekly.
All food waste bins in Mole Valley are emptied using a separate collection vehicle.
This means it is important to keep your food caddy out until 4pm on your day of collection to ensure it is emptied.
