Mole Valley Employment & Skills Hub

A free independent service run by a team of experienced Employment & Skills Advisors. designed to help residents of Mole Valley with their job hunt.

The Hub also assists local businesses with their recruitment needs, connecting employers, training providers and education opportunities to local residents who are actively searching for their next role.

What can the MV Hub do for Mole Valley residents?

  • Provide career help virtually and in-person through pre-booked or walk-in appointments
  • Supportive advice for your job search including completing job applications, CV writing and interview prep
  • Guidance on work-related training, linking you up to apprenticeships, traineeships, work trials, Kickstart schemes, as well as individual job vacancies.

If you are a business based within Mole Valley you can also access the services of the MV Hub to source, secure and upskill potential candidates who are looking for sustainable employment.

Who can access the Hub?

The MV Hub is open to any resident of Mole Valley, of any age, who is actively looking for work. If you are a business looking to use the recruitment services of the MV Hub, your business must be based within Mole Valley. Use the ‘Find your local council’ tool to check whether you are located within Mole Valley.

Job Fairs

  • Monthly events with local employers offering local job opportunities with support from Employment & Skills Advisors available on the day. Sign up to the mailing list to find out about upcoming dates: mvhub@surreyllp.org.uk

Job Search Session

  • Weekly on Tuesdays (2pm) and Fridays (11am)
  • Search for work under the guidance of a professional Employment & Skills Advisor
  • Assistance with uploading documents, covering letters and applications with access to a device to work on, if required

Wellbeing

  • Wednesday Wellbeing Sessions run by Kingston Adult Education – covering a range of topics such as confidence, meditation and managing stress
  • Music Harmony – discover how music can improve your mood and wellbeing
  • Meet Your Social Prescriber – delivered by Leatherhead PCN – speak with a professional prescriber who can help to connect people to activities, groups, and services in their community to meet the practical, social and emotional needs that affect their health and wellbeing

Household Support

  • Cost of Living Fair – seasonal events bringing together a range of organisations with shared aims to support residents save money and live better
  • Energy Advice and Support run by Energy Manage – bookable appointments with an Energy Adviser to explore ways to reduce bills and save money

Courses and Workshops

The MV Hub host a range of short courses designed to upskill and support the search for work. Short courses have included LinkedIn Workshops, Customer Service Training, Interview Workshop and SIA Training.

Learn English

  • English as a Second Language Course run by The Meeting Place – a friendly group supporting those learning English
  • Beginner and Intermediate sessions are available

Get Online

  • Book a one to one IT session with a Digital Buddy
  • A Digital Buddy can support you make the most of your devices and online services
