Handy Person Scheme
Working in partnership with Millbrook Healthcare, we provide an enhanced professional handy person scheme.
The aim is to promote and assist independent living at home by carrying out adaptations and repairs. Those who feel vulnerable, have a disability or are advancing in age generally prefer to live independently in their own home, as long as possible.
Millbrook HealthCare’s trusted team of technicians have years of experience advising and providing practical solutions to everyday difficulties.
The low cost service is available for minor work that you may no longer feel confident to do around your home.
Typical jobs covered by the service
- banister, grab and hand rails and small ramps and half steps
- lever taps
- door entry systems, door chains and door spy holes
- replacing curtain tracks and hanging curtains
- replacing light bulbs, including fitting energy efficient bulbs
All the technicians are multi-skilled and DSB checked and can carry out most minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. The council can provide security and energy efficiency measures too.
Works not included in this schedule will be charged at £24 per hour plus materials at cost.
