Mole Valley Community Safety Partnership
Priorities and Action Plan 2025/26
Mole Valley Community Safety Partnership – developing our priorities in the context of the Surrey wide strategy.
In two-tier local authority areas such as Surrey, there is a requirement for a County Strategy Group in order to bring together all district, borough and relevant partners responsible for community safety activity. In Surrey the Community Safety and Prevention Board performs this function.
One of its key tasks is to develop the Surrey Community Safety Agreement (CSA). This statutory document sets out how the responsible authorities will work together to identify and address shared priorities in relation to reducing crime and disorder.
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey sets out in its Police and Crime Plan for Surrey the areas that Surrey Police will focus on. Throughout the 2025 – 2028 Plan, there is a focus on improving partnership work to reduce harm and building safer, more resilient communities.
The MVCSP links into these Surrey-wide strategies. It also develops local priorities for local issues where it can add value.
A Mole Valley Community Safety Partnership (CSP) consultation ran from November to December 2024 to identify areas of concern among residents of Mole Valley and help shape the CSP’s local priorities and actions. It is planned to repeat the survey periodically so that the success of the CSP’s actions can be measured over time.
97 online responses and one hard copy response were received at the close of the consultation. The demographic questions identify that the majority were Mole Valley Residents, with a good geographical spread across the more urban parts of the district.
The results showed a small majority of people (55%) feel safe in Mole Valley, although also felt that crime and ASB had increased in the last year, and lacked confidence that they were being dealt with effectively.
Fly tipping, drug dealing and road safety were the top three concerns identified.
When asked about how well informed they were about the current local priorities, respondents did not generally feel well informed across all priority areas.
29% had been a victim of crime in the last year, with the highest type being vehicle crime, followed by bicycle theft, criminal damage and public order. 45% had been a victim of ASB, with the highest number suffering rowdy and nuisance behaviour and nuisance neighbours.
