Ramblers Wellbeing Walks

Our Ramblers Wellbeing Walks scheme is a programme of fun, free and accessible weekly volunteer-led walks ideal for anyone looking to become more active and meet new people. It can also, if advised by a doctor, assist with recovery from the long-term effects of Covid.

You can find more information by visiting the Ramblers website.

In line with the latest government guidance, group walks have returned to no limit on numbers. Social distancing is maintained throughout, and those who would like to wear a face covering are welcome to do so.

The walks last from 30 to 90 minutes, ideal for anyone who would like to start becoming more active or keep fit and healthy.

Service/assistance dogs are welcomed on walks so long as they are kept on a short leave or harness and do not cause disruption on the walk or to other walkers.

Walking can help us to feel happier and healthier, reducing the risk of heart disease and conditions such as breast cancer and dementia.

The scheme is part of the Ramblers network which currently has 70,000 regular walkers taking part across the country. We are passionate about setting up health walks in the beautiful district of Mole Valley. Just bring yourself, comfortable shoes and clothing, sunglasses and a bottle of water on sunny days and an umbrella and waterproofs if raining.

For more information on the walks, email wellbeing@molevalley.gov.uk or call 01306 885001.

Become a Volunteer Walk Leader

We currently have more than 20 volunteers from a variety of backgrounds, all with a shared passion for walking! We can only set up new walks and develop our programme with the help of volunteers. Each walk has a Volunteer Walk Leader and Back Marker to enable each walker to go at a pace that is comfortable for them.

Training, support and equipment is provided for all volunteers. If you are enthusiastic about walking, would like to help others get active and can give one morning, afternoon or evening a week then why not get in touch? Walks can take place anywhere in Mole Valley, during the daytime or evening and are a great way to enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

Mole Valley Ramblers

Mole Valley Ramblers offer friendly group walking across the heart of Surrey and further afield. They provide a full range of walks, both on weekdays and at weekends, generally 5 - 7 miles for half day walks and 10 - 14 for full day walks.

They also offer shorter more leisurely walks, of 3-5 miles, for those who would prefer to begin with something gentler. Some walks are being limited in size and must be pre-booked.
