1 May 2025 Surrey County Council elections – postponed

The Government made an announcement on Wednesday 5 February 2025, confirming that Surrey will be in the first wave of local government reorganisation and that the scheduled elections to Surrey County Council on 1 May 2025 will be postponed. The postponement is to allow for reorganisation plans to be developed.

We expect that the earliest that elections for the new unitary authorities will take place is May 2026.
