Kingston Road Skate Park

Work to revamp the Kingston Road Recreation Ground skate park in Leatherhead has regrettably been delayed.

Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) has been unable to agree with Surrey County Council (the leaseholder) the change-of-use of the car park, which had intended to be the new location of the revamped skate park. The project will be re-tendered in early 2018 and the new skate park will remain in the same location as the existing facilities.

Work will therefore now take place in summer 2018, at the same time as the playground refurbishment.

Whilst the delay is unfortunate, MVDC is taking the opportunity to ask residents to get involved once again and help shape the future revamped skate park. A public consultation will be arranged for spring 2018 where new and exciting skate park designs can be voted on.

MVDC's refurbishment of the skate park was boosted by £19,999 awarded to the project by the London Marathon Charitable Trust. The Trust supports projects which encourages people who are currently inactive to participate regularly in sport and physical activity.
