Car Parks Refurbishment Project

A £1 million project to refurbish all of Mole Valley District Council's car parks.

Improvements include a complete resurfacing of the car park, improved drainage to prevent flooding, clearer signs, improved lighting to make the car park safer, and work to ensure all the spaces meet modern size standards. Cabling has also been laid in preparation for future plug-in electric vehicle charging points.

Southside Car Park Refurbishment

Southside car park in Dorking is the first one on our refurbishment agenda this year.

Users and visitors of the Dorking’s car park will soon benefit from £375k improvements including new surface, relining, handrails and drainage. The project is planned to start towards the end of June 2022.

In order to reduce any disruption, the car park will remain open during the renovation period, which is scheduled to be complete in early October 2022.

Up to 25% of parking spaces might not be available to use during the works and traffic management will be in place. Sections of the car park will be closed off in advance and car park users are asked not to park their vehicles in marked out of use spaces the evening before the works are due to take place.

B&M McHugh Ltd who are delivering the project on behalf of MVDC can be contacted via email on enquiries@mchughltd.co.uk any queries about the work.

The nearest alternative parking is in St Martin’s Walk, accessible from Mill Lane.
