Licensing Sub-Committee Details

A Licensing Sub-Committee consists of three councillors who sit on the main licensing Committee.

The three councillors meet primarily for three purposes, to:

  • consider applications for new premises licences (needed by pubs and clubs)
  • consider temporary event notices where representations (objections) have been received
  • determine reviews of licences where an objection to a current premises license has been received

The three councillors attending are selected by a Mole Valley District Council officer, with the intention of avoiding councillors determining cases that occur in or sufficiently close to their ward.
