Council Tax Payments

There are various methods of getting your payment to MVDC. You can also opt to receive your bills by email if you prefer.

Direct Debit

To pay by direct debit, there is a choice of four payment dates: 1st, 5th, 15th or 25th of each month. All other payment methods are due on first of each month.

You can set up a Direct Debit to pay your Council Tax with the Revenues Team by sending an E-mail to with the following information:

  • Your Full Name
  • Address
  • Council Tax Account Reference Number – begins with a 6
  • Name of your Bank
  • Sort Code
  • Account Number
  • Name(s) of Account Holder(s)
  • Preferred Instalment Date – we can offer 1st, 5th, 15th or 25th of each month?

Once the Team have received these details via E-mail the Direct debit Instruction will be administered and details of your monthly instalments going forward will be sent out to you.

Alternatively, email in the direct debit instruction at the bottom of the page to or telephone 01306 879293 with your council tax reference number, starting with 60, without this we can't set up a new direct debit, and your bank account details (for example, as shown on your cheque book) to hand.
