The Government is providing further funding to support some new one off business grants payments to support businesses as we move out of lockdown. There are two schemes in operation:
The Restart Grant scheme supports businesses in the non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure, personal care and accommodation sectors with a one-off grant, to reopen safely as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
Grants will be paid at the following levels for non essential retail businesses:
- Businesses with a Rateable Value of less than £15,000: £2,667
- Businesses with a Rateable Value of £15,001 - £50,999: £4,000
- Businesses with a Rateable Value of £51,000 and above: £6,000
Grants will be paid at the following levels for businesses in the hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care or gym sectors
- Businesses with a Rateable Value of less than £15,000: £8,000
- Businesses with a Rateable Value of £15,001 - £50,999: £12,000
- Businesses with a Rateable Value of £51,000 and above: £18,000
Grants will be paid directly to businesses who are considered to be eligible that received Local Restrictions Support Grant during the previous grants scheme.
Other businesses will need to apply online for a grant and an application form will be available shortly.
Businesses should refer to the Government guidance on the grants scheme, as some businesses that were eligible for funding under the Local Restrictions Support Grant will not be eligible for the Restart Scheme grant.
The direct grant payments will be made once we have received the funding for the scheme from the Government.
Additional Restrictions Grant
In addition to the above, we will be operating a discretionary grant scheme. More details will be placed here shortly, however, the key focus of the scheme will be on businesses without a rateable value and we will be using the principles of the Restart Grants as a basis for considering applications.
We will make direct payments to previous grant recipients who are eligible for this grant. Other businesses who consider they may be eligible will need to apply. The Grant Scheme and application form will be published online shortly.
