Joanna Slater grew up in Surrey, attended Therfield School and now lives in Leatherhead with her husband and young family.
Joanna studied economics at UCL before becoming a chartered accountant while working for EY then becoming a chartered tax advisor while working for HM Treasury. Recently she has employed her professional skills and experience to advise small and medium sized local businesses and currently serves as a trustee to the Leatherhead Community Association.
After becoming a mum in 2020, Joanna was drawn to politics noticing that how much young families are affected by the provision of council services such as schools, playgrounds and leisure centres. Joanna is keen to use her professional skills to help deliver efficient and effective services for her community. Jo sings in a local church choir, she enjoys reading, swimming and countryside walks.
