Westcott Neighbourhood Development Plan

Westcott Village Forum has prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for the village and surrounding area of Westcott.

The NDP was "made" on 5 December 2017 by Mole Valley District Council (MVDC). It forms part of the Development Plan for Mole Valley and its policies will be used when considering planning applications submitted in the Westcott Neighbourhood Area.

The NDP was publicised between May and June 2017, and an independent examination held in July 2017. The examiner recommended a number of changes to the ND P. Westcott Village Forum accepted those changes in September 2017 and requested that MVDC adopt the NDP. On 10 October 2017, MVDC decided that the NDP, as revised, met the basic conditions of soundness and agreed to arrange a referendum.

The following documents are available to view (see 'Downloads'):

  • Westcott Neighbourhood Development Plan
  • Westcott ND P Decision Statement
  • Westcott ND P Examiner's Report
  • Summary of representations submitted to examiner

Copies of the NDP and supporting documents are also available for inspection at:

  • MVDC offices at Pippbrook, Dorking

More information about how the ND P was prepared can be found on the Westcott Village Forum website.

A referendum on the Westcott NDP was held within the Westcott Neighbourhood Area on 23 November 2017. In response to the question "Do you want Mole Valley District Council to use the neighbourhood development plan for Westcott to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?", 91% of those voting voted "yes".
