Supporting Residents in Our Community

Community Helpline

We have been working with our partners at Surrey County Council and the voluntary sector to support the new Community Helpline - 0300 200 1008 (Monday to Friday 9am - 5PM). This directs residents who need support to those who can help and also provides advice on where to register your offer to volunteer to support the community.

Free Parking for all Residents in Mole Valley Car Parks

Mole Valley District Council has introduced free parking in all Mole Valley District Council owned car parks to help residents park more safely, support key workers and avoid road congestion during this unprecedented time. Throughout this period, short and long term restrictions do not apply, there are no limits on how long you can stay.

Although we are no longer charging for parking or enforcing in our car parks, our Civil Enforcement Officers remain on street carrying out essential work  to ensure emergency access and to help deal with obstruction and dangerous parking. Our Civil Enforcement Officers may also be used for carrying out other duties to support our community response such as food deliveries to vulnerable residents.

This arrangement will remain in place until further notice

If you have already purchased a parking permit we are unable to provide a refund at this time - please bear with us and more information will follow.

Free parking for Health and Social Care Workers

If you are a health or social care worker, parking is now free in all MVDC car parks. This applies from today (26 March) until further notice. You are not required to contact the Council for a special permit. Just park with a note in the windscreen indicating you are a health or social care worker.  If you have already bought a parking permit and you fall into this category, we are unable to process a refund at this time.

Penalty Charge Notices

We have also taken the decision to suspend the process for any outstanding penalty charge notices. Penalty charge notices will be temporarily put on hold although we are still accepting payments.

We have designed these options to further assist people whilst they observe government advice, so be aware all other restrictions will operate as per usual. We appreciate your co-operation at this time.

Emergency Fund for Community Organisations

Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) is launching an Emergency Fund to support community organisations who are delivering vital services in Mole Valley throughout this unprecedented time. Grants of up to £5,000 are available to help with additional running costs or for specific projects, particularly those that aim to help our most vulnerable residents.

This Fund will be run as a simple, responsive and flexible process. If your organisation is in need of financial support to help others please email grants@molevalley.gov.uk or call 01306 885001 and ask about the Emergency Fund.
