CIL: Neighbourhood Grants
Groups, organisations and residents associations within unparished areas can apply for grants funded from money collected through the Community Infrastructure Levy(CIL).
CIL is a levy on new development with the purpose of funding both strategic and local infrastructure projects that will support new development. The guidance here covers the local or neighbourhood element of CIL only.
If the project that requires funding is within a parished area you should direct your funding requests to the appropriate parish council clerk. If your project is in an unparished area, funds are managed and distributed by Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) and requests should be made on the application form (See 'Downloads'). Guidance notes to accompany the application form can be viewed (see 'Downloads').
A plan indicating the parished and unparished areas can be viewed (see 'Downloads). Unparished areas eligible to apply for CIL funding from MVDC are: Ashtead, Bookham, Boxhill, Dorking, Fetcham, Leatherhead, Pixham, Westcott and Westhumble.
The availability of funds within each area will depend first on the implementation of developments granted planning permission and, secondly, on the demand for these funds.
Before submitting an application for a CIL grant please contact with Rod Shaw at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01306 885001 to ensure that there are funds available in your area.
The type of projects eligible for funding are set out in the Guidance Notes.
