From 1st - 22nd July, the Transform Leatherhead team will be consulting with the public on short and long term proposals for improving the High Street and showing in detail the wider transport options being considered to improve connectivity around the town.

There will be two public exhibitions, 4th July at the Leatherhead Institute, 2-8pm and 6th July at the Swan Centre, 10am - 4pm.

Our expert consultants Arcadis have been working on the vital High Street Improvement study. Following a productive focus group with key stakeholders in the High Street in March we will be returning to the group in June to review the options, before inviting everyone to have their say on the proposals.

Update on Leatherhead Post Office

In response to community concern we have been in contact with the Post Office requesting an update. They share our desire that wherever possible, services move to a new retailer without a loss of service to the Leatherhead community. We have been assured that the Post Office is seeking to find alternative provision in Leatherhead.

Leatherhead to provide new home for Surrey Police Headquarters


Surrey Police have purchased the former Electrical Research Association and Cobham Industries site on Cleeve Road Leatherhead where they will create a new HQ and operational hub.

Latest on Fetcham & Leatherhead flood alleviation plans

One of Transform Leatherhead's key partners, the Environment Agency, gave a recent update to Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) Members on its latest plans for flood alleviation for Leatherhead and Fetcham and will be hosting a public Flood Awareness Event about it on February 28th at the Leatherhead Institute.

Mole Valley's bid for the Future High Streets Fund

Leatherhead Nomination Decision.

The report brought to Cabinet yesterday evening recommended that Leatherhead town centre was the best fit for the funding criteria for the Future High Streets Fund nomination.  This option was recommended as the Transform Leatherhead Masterplan's objectives closely align with the fund's objectives and were felt to offer the best chance of success.

Claire House & James House redevelopment application now open for comment

As part of Transform Leatherhead an outline planning application has been made for significant redevelopment of the Claire House and James House office blocks in Bridge Street, Leatherhead. Everyone wishing to view and comment on the proposal now can via the Mole Valley District Council Planning portal.

Swan Shopping Centre refurbishment to begin in September

From the first week in September work will begin on the first phase of refurbishment to the Swan Shopping Centre, Leatherhead as part of Transform Leatherhead.

This first phase will see the refurbishment of the public toilets and provision of new baby changing facilities, and begin works to make the car-park more user-friendly.

Winning Designs Announced for Kingston Road Playground and Skate Park

The pirate-themed playground by Kompan and skate park from CANVAS are the two new play features to be built in Kingston Road Recreation Ground in Leatherhead this summer. Kompan, the play company behind the hugely popular Meadowbank Playground, will begin work in the first week in July 2018.

Data gathering for Transform Leatherhead Transport study

Between 18 and 24 June Transform Leatherhead's transport consultants will begin surveys in Leatherhead to map current traffic flow and car park use. The data gathered will inform the development of a transport simulation model for Leatherhead.
