Small-Grants Community Fund

The Small-Grants Community Fund has been created to offer support to charities and community groups that carry out valuable work within their communities, towards building increased community resilience and self-reliance.

How do I apply?

For applications of between £1,000 and £5,000 please contact us to request an application form. For applications below £1,000 please use the online form.

As well as completing the form you will also be asked to supply the following documents by email or post:

  • Copy of constitution, aims and objectives (small organisations can use a statement of purpose)
  • Copy of accounts for the past two years or income and expenditure figures. If the organisation is new, please provide projected figures for the first year of operation
  • Evidence of insurance cover including appropriate level of public liability insurance
  • If applicable:
        - Evidence of Health and Safety Training
        - Child Protection Policy
       - Policy detailing the appropriate safety checks on staff/volunteers, if your organisation works with vulnerable people such as the elderly or those with a disability

Who has been awarded grant funding in 2017/18?

Nine local groups have already benefited from last year's funding, receiving a total of £21,298 towards valuable community projects.

Dorking Area Community First Responders - £2478

  • For two defibrillator and responder kit bags for newly recruited first responders and two cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) models for use in their free community HeartStart courses to demonstrate the most effective rate and depth for compressions.

Family Voice Surrey - £2024

  • To fund a local 'hub coordinator' for Mole Valley, who will represent Family Voice Surrey in the District, building a network of parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities.

Surrey Care Trust - £1827

  • To support three volunteer mentors to help vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Mole Valley to improve their life chances.

Surrey Hills Arts - £2300

  • To fund community engagement elements of the 'Surrey Unearthed' project in Mole Valley.

The Amber Foundation - £4737

  • To contribute to providing a one bed space for a homeless young person to provide a fresh start in a safe and nurturing environment.

Be Me Project - £2000

  • To contribute to costs including training and course materials for self esteem courses for women and girls.

Sight for Surrey - £900

  • To provide funding towards arts workshops for children and young people with vision impairments and other complex medical needs.

Cruse Bereavement Care - £1000

  • To contribute towards running costs for one-to-one adult and children bereavement support services

Brockham Village Hall - £4000

  • To assist with revenue costs while new management fundraises and plans capital outlay
