Independent Remuneration Panel - Members Wanted

Mole Valley District Council is looking for community minded volunteers to sit on its Independent Remuneration Panel later this year.

The role of an Independent Remuneration Panel is to review the allowances paid to Councillors to ensure they are at an appropriate level to not deter local people from standing for election to the Council for financial reason. Also to recognise the time commitment expected of Members, including those who hold special responsibilities, e.g. Leader/Deputy Leader of a political group, Executive Members and Chairmen of Committees.

It is expected that the Panel will meet on three to four occasions to review evidence and meet with Councillors before making recommendations on the Councillors Allowance Scheme to the Council.

For a person specification and more information about the role see 'Downloads'.

If you wish to express your interest in the role, please can you submit a supporting statement of no more than one side of A4 setting out how your knowledge and experience meets the person specification.
