Changes to Surrey's Community Recycling Centre Service
Changes will be made to Surrey County Council's (SCC) Community Recycling Centre (CRC) service from 4 December 2017 that will help SCC make savings while maintaining a comprehensive service.
Following consultation with residents, the following changes are to be made:
From 4 December 2017:
- There will be no free daily allowance of chargeable non-household waste such as rubble, plasterboard and soil
- Residents from Bracknell Forest and Wokingham will no longer be able to use Camberley CRC
From 8 January 2018:
- CRCs at Bagshot, Caterham, Cranleigh, Dorking, Farnham and Warlingham will no longer accept waste from vans, pick-ups and trailers
- The opening days of most sites will reduce
The changes are being made as continued cuts to Surrey County Council's funding, rising costs and increasing demand for key services means that the council needs to find savings of more than £100m this year.
