Future Mole Valley (Local Plan 2018-2033)
Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) has started work on its next Local Plan, 'Future Mole Valley'. The project will set out plans for land use in the District for the next 15 years; it will include targets for delivering new development as well as setting out those areas which will continue to be protected.
Between 1 July and 1 September 2017, we held a public consultation to ask for your views on the strategic options for Future Mole Valley. The consultation considered two main themes: making the best use of brownfield land, and the potential release of greenfield land.

We received a significant number of responses to the consultation which have now been analysed by the team. A consultation summary is available to view (see 'Downloads').
A report was presented to the Mole Valley Executive Meeting on 28 November 2017 where members agreed the following preferred strategic development options to guide the preparation of Future Mole Valley;
The Future Mole Valley Local Development Scheme 2017-2019 has also been updated.
MVDC will now undertake a detailed assessment of the agreed preferred strategic options to identify potential sites to accommodate new development, and the infrastructure required to support the preferred development options.
This will include a Greenfield Call for Sites between 11 December 2017 - 5 February 2018 which invites landowners and other interested parties to tell MVDC about land and sites which may become available for development over the next 15 years, and may help to deliver the preferred development options outlined above.
The Local Development Scheme (2017-2019) for Future Mole Valley sets out the programme for preparing Future Mole Valley and is available (see 'Downloads').
The first stage in preparing the new Local Plan was to produce a number of evidence documents, which together provide forecasts of future demand for development in the district over the next 15 years (2018 - 2033), and assessments of the likely supply or capacity for development over the same plan period.
These documents formed part of our Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning)(England) Regulations 2012 consultation.
