Heritage Open Days 2017 Registration Now Open!
Residents, businesses and organisations in Mole Valley eager to take part in England's largest festival of history and culture, are being encouraged to come forward with ideas for events.
This year's Heritage Open Days will run, under the theme 'Wheels in Motion', from 7 - 10 September and celebrate the district's diverse heritage.
Last year, hundreds of residents and visitors delighted in uncovering hidden history, exploring fascinating exhibitions and opening doors - all free of charge - at 70 events across Mole Valley as part of the four-day festival.
A particular highlight of Heritage Open Days 2016 was the grand opening of Dorking's Deepdene Trail on 10 September. The trail's popularity and reputation has been growing ever since, with residents and visitors exploring the restored architectural and landscape features of the historic Deepdene Estate. For more information and the latest events taking place at the Deepdene Trail, please visit www.deepdenetrail.co.uk.
From 8 to 11 September last year, visitors arrived in their droves to explore a wide-range of events. Thorncroft Manor, The Grange, Dalewood House and Flint Cottage all proved particularly popular, but there were so many other hidden gems people enjoyed too. If you are interested in taking part this year and registering an event, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
