With the festive lights being switched on in Dorking and Leatherhead, it is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in Mole Valley!
Mole Valley District Council continues to support the winter festivities by working with businesses and community groups to organise the Christmas town centre events in Dorking and Leatherhead. We are also encouraging shoppers to spend time in our towns and villages by providing free parking on the Saturdays running up to Christmas. We hope this will encourage you to shop locally and support our wonderful array of shops, cafes and restaurants.
While we prepare for Christmas, we should also prepare for winter weather. Unfortunately, Mole Valley is no stranger to severe weather events and it is important we all consider how we will keep warm and safe as the nights get colder and the risk of flooding, snow and ice increases. We are encouraging residents to keep a neighbourly eye on those who might be more vulnerable to the weather conditions so everyone can have a safe and healthy Christmas and start to the New Year. We continue to work with our partners to provide residents with advice on being prepared for an emergency and staying out of harm, all of which can be found by visiting www.surreycc.gov.uk/surreyprepared.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
