Call for Sites: Brownfield Land
The first stage of Local Plan preparation will focus on the scope for meeting Mole Valley's future development needs through reuse of 'brownfield' or previously developed sites.
Between 26 September and 7 November, Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) carried out a call for for brown field sites of at least 0.25ha which may be suitable for development to provide:
- five or more houses;
- 500sqm or more of employment-related development;
- pitches for gypsy and traveller households or plots for travelling show people;
- other forms of development (please specify)
Please note that this consultation has now closed.
There will be further 'Calls for Sites' at a later date, focusing on sites which fall outside the definitions of brownfield land, including sites which would help to deliver infrastructure priorities. Further details are contained in the Local Development Scheme.
If you would like to discuss this further please contact the Planning Policy Team at firstname.lastname@example.org or 01306 879281
What happens next
The Call for Sites process will help with preparation of a Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA). MVDC will analyse all the submitted sites, as well as other sites that are known to be available for future development.
A judgement will be made about whether each site is suitable for development, whether it is genuinely available to be developed during the period of the Local Plan and whether development is achievable taking into account any economic or physical constraints.
The completed SHELAA will inform the proposals in the Local Plan and will be published as one of the background evidence documents.
