Garden Waste Collection Service

Mole Valley runs a fortnightly collection service of garden waste for £34 per year. This service offers residents an easy and convenient way to recycle their garden waste all year round.

Is my home eligible for this service?

We are keen to offer the scheme to as many residents as possible.  Those residents who are already on the assist lift scheme can have their green waste bin collected where their existing refuse and recycling bins are currently collected.

The scheme also offers a bag alternative to those properties, which cannot have wheeled bins due to problems with access or obstacles.

How does the collection scheme work?

Once you have completed the order form and Direct Debit a brown lid wheeled bin will be delivered to you by the Council for your use.

We will also separately post to you a membership sticker for you to display on your bin and information on your first and ongoing collection day. Each year a new membership sticker will be posted to you as you renew your membership.  This will be done automatically under the Direct Debit system.

The collection service operates all year round on a fortnightly basis. Your wheeled bin(s) need to be placed at the edge of your property by 6:30AM on the day of your collection.

Only garden waste contained within the wheeled bin will be collected so hire extra bins if in doubt.  Any lapsed membership will result in the non-collection of your garden waste container and the removal of the garden waste wheeled bin.

What will it cost?

The cost for hiring and collection of the bin will be £34 per wheeled bin per year.

Residents can then hire up to a maximum of 3 wheeled bins per household.

What Happens to my garden waste?

The garden waste is emptied into a dedicated vehicle and then sent to a local facility to be shredded and recycled into compost to be then used as a soil improver.
