Community Transport and Dial-A-Ride

Community Transport and Dial-A-Ride is for all residents in the district with mobility problems who are unable to use public transport but still want independence.

This versatile service is designed to support your independence and enable Mole Valley residents who are disabled and cannot use public transport, or aged above 60 and require Day Centre transport, to travel within the district and neighbouring areas.

Each vehicle has lifts for wheelchair users and others who have mobility problems. The drivers will be there to assist you, whatever your disability.

The service runs daily, including weekends, between 9am and 4.45pm and operates on a first come, first served basis.

Booking a journey

When you have registered to become a member, call 01372 383333 between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday (please note that lines will be closed from 12 - 1pm).

If you have to cancel your booking for whatever reason, please provide as much notice as you can.

Essential escorts may travel free of charge (except on special Dial-A-Ride outings). If you require an essential escort, please advise the office of this need when making your booking to ensure a seat can be made available.

If you are visually impaired and require the services of a guide dog, they are very welcome to travel on the vehicle with you.

If you want to be able to use this service you will need to apply for membership by calling 01372 383333, or email dialaride@molevalley.gov.uk to request that a registration form be sent to you in the post. Please note that, for your protection and training purposes, calls to this number may be recorded.

Prices

From April 1 2018, the membership fee for Community Transport will be £26 per year or £50 for a joint membership.

The prices of journeys will change as Community Transport will split into two distinct services:

Community Transport Trips

There is a charge of £3 per person regardless of where you travel within Mole Valley or the immediate surroundings.

If you are able to organise a group of eight or more people who would like to travel to a location together, the team will do their best to accommodate this.

There will be regular trips on weekdays to local shops and the Farfield Centre in Leatherhead.

Community Transport bookings can be made 28 days in advance.

Dial-A-Ride

Dial-A-Ride will no longer operate on zones. The charge will be £4 for a single journey of up to five miles, £6 for a journey of up to 10 miles and then £6 plus 80p per mile up to a distance of approximately 20 miles.

Please note Dial-A-Ride journeys can only be booked seven days in advance.

Community Cab

We are piloting a new 'Community Cab' service. This bespoke, wheelchair accessible service offers a direct journey, unlike Dial-A-Ride. The charge is £4 for the first mile of the journey, and then £2.10 per mile/part of a mile from then on.

The cab can be booked up to 14 days in advance.
