Cllr Malcolm Ladell

Malcolm was born during World War II and grew up in South Wimbledon.  Starting work at the age of 15 at a firm of Accountants, he attended evening classes to get some GCE O' and A' levels.  Malcolm trained as an Accountant, studying Taxation, Commercial and Company Law in his own time as a part-time student.  Over the years he progressed and dealt with the accounts of a varied mix of businesses including self-employed builders, shopkeepers and small - medium sized public companies.  For the last years prior to retirement in early 2014, Malcolm was Company Secretary and Financial Controller of a manufacturing company.  His diverse duties often included hands-on involvement with foreign customers, product development and production processes.

Malcolm and his wife Daphne, with their four children, moved to live on Box Hill in 1983 and became involved with community matters, including protection of the unique but different communities of Headley and Box Hill within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
