Arts Partnerships Surrey

The Arts Partnership Surrey is a strategic alliance of nine local authorities, with district, borough and county councils working together to shape and deliver a cultural offering for Surrey that addresses social, economic, learning and health needs.

Singing Picnics

Singing Picnics is a fun and simple project designed for primary school children to begin to get involved in singing. It is now in its second year after a successful event at Howard of Effingham School in July 2017. The event included four primary schools and involvement from the Howard of Effingham School pupils who helped lead the activity. The second Singing Picnics will take place in June 2018. Final dates and times to be confirmed.

This project is in partnership with Arts Partnership Surrey, local primary schools and Surrey Arts.

Learning to Fly

Learning to Fly is running creative writing workshops across Surrey. Using spoken word and poetry we will be exploring the impact of World War I in Surrey and the hidden stories of local people. This project is in partnership with Arts Partnership Surrey, Brooklands Museum and Surrey Arts.

MVDC hosted two workshops in The Grange, Great Bookham in November and December 2017.

Moonbrella

Moonbrella is a multi-sensory theatre experience created for very young children and their parents or carers. It runs for 35 minutes and it is a great way to get more engagement from young children. The Moonbrella show will be touring in March 2018.

Moonbrella is a project co-ordinated by Theatre Exchange in partnership with Arts Partnership Surrey.

Sight for Surrey Art Workshop

MVDC are working in partnership with Sight for Surrey to deliver visual art workshops for young people with visual impairments. The latest project is called Crazyflix which took play in November 2017  in Fetcham. The project explored how to develop expressive painting skills through active use of a diverse range of tools, focusing on spray painting and applying acrylic to create a design on a t-shirt.
