Forward Plan

Each month, Mole Valley District Council publishes a forward plan, which sets out the decisions the Executive expects to make during the next four months.

MVDC is required to publish a notice setting out the key decisions to be taken at least 28 clear days before the decision is made. In addition, there is also a requirement for MVDC to publish details of any decisions to be taken in private at a meeting of the Executive at least 28 clear days before the meeting.

By publishing the plan in this way, Mole Valley residents are provided with the opportunity to view issues in advance of their discussion at the Executive.

Key decisions are defined as:

  • decisions likely to result in MVDC incurring expenditure or savings of at least £100,000 and/or
  • significant in terms of its effect on communities living or working in an area comprising two or more wards or electoral divisions in the area of MVDC

While the majority of the Executive's business at the meetings listed in the Forward Plan will be open to the public and press, there will be occasions when the business to be considered contains confidential, commercially sensitive or personal information. In accordance with the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012, part of any of the Executive meetings detailed in the Forward Plan may be held in private because the agenda and reports for that meeting will contain Exempt Information under Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), and that the public interest in withholding the information outweighs the public interest in disclosing it. Where this applies the letter (E) will appear after the name of the topic.
