Littering Fixed Penalty Notices
Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) is committed to making public places cleaner, safer and greener. Fines, or Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs), may be used to enforce this and are issued to people dropping litter.
Issuing FPNs is part of MVDC's Cleaner Neighbourhood Strategy and it is hoped that this level of enforcement will further deter people from dropping litter and help to keep the district clean.
FPNs are an effective way of punishing those individuals who drop litter without going through a court process, unless they commit a similar offence on more than one occasion.
To ensure that FPNs are issued fairly and consistently across the district, MVDC has produced a FPN Enforcement Statement.
If you see a litter bin that is damaged, overflowing or a part of the highway that is badly littered, please call 01306 885001.
