Mole Valley will host the London 2012 Olympic Road Cycling Road Races during the opening weekend of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. On Saturday 28th July and Sunday 29th July 2012 the men's and women's cycle road races will start and finish on The Mall in central London and will include several laps of Box Hill. There will be 145 male athletes and 67 female athletes competing in the Road Races.

Mole Valley District Council is working closely with Surrey County Council, the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), Transport for London (TFL), National Trust, Natural England and Surrey Police. Information on this event can be found on the Go Surrey website.
