Get Ready for Leatherhead's Annual Duck Race on 8th July 2018

Time to pop this year's annual Duck Race in Leatherhead in your diary!

Bring all the family down to this community event by the town bridge from 2pm to join in the fun.  The bright yellow ducks are available in advance to sponsor for £1 from Barton's Bookshop and the Swan Centre (on selected days), so make sure you get yours early!

Before the event, Leatherhead's shops are joining in the fun with the well-loved 'Duck Trail' around town.  From 23rd June find all the giant ducks 'nesting' in the shop windows and complete the competition form to be in with a chance of winning £50 to spend in the town!

During the event, take a 'duck delfie' and post it on twitter or Instagram with #mvduckrace and you could win a family ticket for 4 people to Leatherhead Theatre's much anticipated 2018 pantomime, Aladdin.

Characters from Leatherhead Theatre's panto will join in the family fun at the Duck Race alongside the model railway, storytelling and Surrey Hills Radio with music to entertain everyone.  Refreshments will be available and a BBQ will be provided by the Running Horses Pub.

Councillor Simon Edge, Cabinet Member for Prosperity said: "This annual event really showcases what a wonderful sense of community we have in Leatherhead, with people of all ages coming out to enjoy the races and have fun together. Last year over 3,500 people attended and it was great fun.  Whilst we support the Swan Centre chosen charity the Royal British Legion on this day, the duck race event also raises funds for other Leatherhead Town Centre Events throughout the year, so everyone sponsoring a duck is playing their part in supporting future town events."

The event begins at 2pm with 8 races and a Swan race.

Competition forms for the Duck Trail are available from participating shops
