Gypsies and Travellers

Local authorities are required to take the lead in assessing the accommodation needs of gypsies and travellers and, if appropriate, identifying appropriate sites for them to settle.

There are a number of public authorised gypsy sites currently in Mole Valley located at:

  • Brambledown, Coldharbour Lane, Dorking
  • Conifer Park, Ranmore Road, Dorking
  • Salvation Place, Young Street, Leatherhead
  • Travellers Rest, Swanworth Lane, Mickleham

These sites are managed and maintained by Surrey County Council (SCC). To apply for a pitch or if you have any queries, please call John Hockley on 07812 665832.

Visit SCC's Gypsy and Travellers in Surrey web page for more information.

Surrey Community Action provides a support service for gypsies and travellers.
