Dorking Town Centre Area Action Plan 'Drop-In' Event

The Council is holding a public 'drop-in' event (to view the poster please click here) for the Dorking Town Centre Area Action plan in St Martins Walk (former Nightingales Store) on,

  • Thursday 2nd July, 3pm - 7pm
  • Friday 3rd July, 9am - 4pm
  • Staurday 4th July, 10am - 4pm

The Local Development Framework

The Local Development Framework (LDF) is a folder of Local Development Plan Documents (DPD's), the most important and first of which is the Core Strategy. The Council has prepared the Core Strategy in line with the timetable below. There is a significant amount of evidence that has been produced as part of preparing the Core Strategy. These documents explore in more detail many of the key issues and are the basis upon which the Core Strategy policies and subsequent DPDs have and will be prepared.

Core Strategy Timetable

Following the changes in producing a Core Strategy as set out in Planning Policy Statement 12 (PPS12) the Council revised the timetable for the production of the document. The current time table is as follows:-

Consultation Period Closed

The consultation on the Revised Preferred Options closed on the 20th of June 2008. All comments are currently being analysed and inputted into the Consultation Portal. To view comments received please click on the link to the Consultation Portal on the right. The Council is grateful for the comments received which will assist in preparing the Core Strategy.

But remember, if you want the Council to formally consider your views, you must use the Consultation Portal or comment using one of the other methods set out here.
