Social Centres & The Point
Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) operates The Fairfield Centre in Leatherhead, for active retired people living within the Mole Valley area. The Dorking Christian Centre is just off the High Street in Dorking and is owned by the local Methodist church. The Point is a centre whose primary aim is to support, develop the Voluntary, Community and Faith sector.
The Fairfield Centre
The Fairfield Social Centre is a meeting place for older people to socialise and take part in activities for pleasure, leisure, to keep fit and to learn. It is open 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Although traditionally the services and activities have been for over 60s, younger people are welcome to come along.

We have a whole range of activities to suit many interests, including:
- music and movement
- Tai Chi and Chi Kung
- Yoga - gold
- Line Dancing
- Art Group
- Singing for Health
- computer classes
- memory games
- lip reading classes
- French and Reminiscence cafe
We also offer services including beauticians & massage, hairdressing and chiropody.
We offer a 'home cooked' two course lunch everyday between 12 - 1pm in our dining room. We also offer:
- a range of snacks and drinks in our Cafe from 10am to 3pm. Booking is not required.
- a monthly Special Event, for example, Valentines Day, Easter or Summer Solstice. Booking is necessary for this three course meal and coffee, which is followed by entertainment.
Membership for the Fairfield Centre runs to 31 March each year and the individual annual fee is £13. A joint membership (available to husband and wife) costs £18.50 per year. A reduced rate of £7 applies to those in receipt of Pension Credit.
For your first visit to the centre you do not need to be a member. Come along and see what you think.

The Fairfield Centre also houses Mole Valley Wellbeing Centre, an information and advice hub for older residents with memory loss, and their carers.
Dorking Christian Centre
The Dorking Christian Centre (DCC) is a church owned community centre. Previous Mayflower Centre members can attend for cooked lunches, hairdressers, chiropody and activities such as whist.
The popular Mayflower bingo club continues and the DCC hosts a bridge club every Thursday afternoon which is always open to new members. The DCC brings together customers of both the Christian Centre Cafe and the Mayflower Centre to offer new facilities and an improved menu from 10am to 1.45pm.

The Point is a centre based in Dorking which is lead and managed by Voluntary Action Mid Surrey. The centre's primary aim is to support and develop the Voluntary, Community and Faith sector. The Point houses a number of different charitable organisations, which include Age Concern Mole Valley, Volunteer Centre Mole Valley, which serve the community in a variety of ways.
